About Walker Memorial Hall
Walker Memorial Hall is a Queen Anne Style community center built in 1892. It was built for the benefit of residents of Bridgton School District 18 by a bequest from Joseph Walker, a successful Maine businessman and summertime resident of Bridgton. It has been maintained for 130 years by trustees from the Highland Ridge community and funded by grants and voluntary contributions from the community.
The People Behind The Hall
Walker Memorial Hall, the company, is a nonprofit (5013c) corporation created in 2021 to renovate the historic building. The corporation was founded and staffed by volunteers from the nearby community who contribute time and money to the restoration project. The corporation owns and manages Walker Memorial Hall.
